Just back from a one week trip, here are the highlights & lowlights

Stayed at the Hard Rock with our 6yo daughter and from our perspective probably the best hotel/resort to stay at with kids. Without question it has one of the best pools in Bali and Kept our 6yo entertained the whole week. The pool attendants are awesome and nothing was too much for them, BTW we have stayed at the dynasty in the past and it surpasses that easily. We can't recommend it highly enough for families etc.

Perhaps the stand out meal for the week was from MA Jolly - what can we say, awesome, unbelievable, fantastic, home run etc. We have eaten at most of the high end restaurants in Bali and have had several meals at Ma Jolly in the past - but this was something special. And no we don't own it!!

Just behind Ma Jolly was the Queens of India, if you love Indian food try either the seminyak or tuban one.

Now for the lowlights, there were a few. First lowlight is the Wharf restaurant at the Ramada Bintang, what disaster. We had friends staying there who wanted to eat in. Frankly I'm surprised none us died from the utter crap that was served up. The service made Faulty Towers look like a Michelin starred hotel and our waiter made Manuel look like a rocket scientist. The only problem with this was that there wasn't a John Clease to make us laugh and we had to pay for it. The food was basically inedible and we would have had better luck getting drinks on the moon and it was more expensive than Ma Jolly. Motto - don't eat in friends hotels. Went to TJ's and I must say it's the first below average meal we have had there. It was quite a disappointment.

Visited Ubud, Kintamani & Pura Besakih. Pura Besakih was a bit of a disappointment - we felt gouged and hit upon money from the time we entered the area in our car. It just left us feeling pretty so so about the whole place.

Discovered Geneva and pick up a few things, again this is a place we would highly recommend.

Overall we had a great holiday

Cheers
