Just back this morning by Jetstar. Paid AU$76 for prepaid meals and found you could pay cash on the plane and get two meals for $19. I do not know how they work their prices out. It will be Garuda next year, because you virtually have two red-eye specials with Jetstar.
Pandora - We purchase two from Silver Instinct in Garlic Lane. "Nama saya trish" was stopping at our hotel with her husband and two lovely daughters. They had authentic pandora bracelets and purchased more charms at Silver Instinct and could not tell the difference between them and their authentic ones. They have the silver mark on them and they were told the silver smith copied all from original ones. Cost for ours were $105 and $93. Silver charms 65000rp beads 35000rp. I did not record the bracelet cost, but it must have been about $20.
Expenditure- Stubbies this year were 11000rp in shops and cheapest in restaurant or pub 14000. Last year 8000rp in shops 10000rp in pub or restaurant. Friends at the Sofitel were paying 50000 a stubbie. Could not detect any obvious rise in the cost of food, but for us $100 a day is about what we spend.
Strange happenings - A lady stopping at our hotel went on Bali Bike ride and ended up over the handlebars and broke teeth and had a nasty gash on her face near her lips. She was not impressed with the help she got as they did not even have a basic first aid kit and took to the hospital in Denpasar.
We went to Ramayana for Revlon. It cost 525000rp, so I gave the girl 550000rp, she asked all the other girls for change, but they had none, so she said 500000rp was ok. It was obvious there was something on as all the girls acted furtively.
It seems a lot of people are finding the beach front hotels too expensive, and are heading away from the beach.
That is all I am nearly out on my chair.
