I'm a big spray tan advocate for a couple of reasons. Firstly a tan makes you look skinny, fabulous and healthy without any health worries. Secondly you don't look like a 'brand new' tourist. But, there are definite rules to follow for a long lasting non streaking tan.
1. Do any waxing a day or two before hand.
2. Make sure you exfoliate (exfoliate glove best).
3. Shower immediately before tan.
4. Moisturise feet, elbows and palms just before tan.
5. Wear very light clothing, like black dress with no bra and g-string.
6. Make sure the surface you stand on in the booth is clean (ask if they have sticky feet to wear). Otherwise tanned soles!
7. Strip naked, as nothing worse than white line poking out of bathers.
8. Make sure tan is dry before dressing, use the air hose of the spray gun to help dry your skin.
9. You cannot sweat, swim or shower for 8 hours.
10. Always try to get the latest appointment possible and shower the next morning.
11. Use a towel to sleep on as the tan WILL come off on the sheets. 12. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. The more you moisturize the longer the tan will last (roughly one week).

I have had a tan at Tropical Tans which was very professionally done. As I was unaware of the brand of tan they used, I trusted the lady with the colour and she was spot on with right shade. I did struggle with the sweat factor afterwards though! If possible to have tan done at home it would be a better option. A very good alternative to having a tan professionally sprayed is a do it yourself option with St Tropez Tanning Mousse, top quality stuff. Sorry to go on but I have experienced every mistake there is with tanning!
