If you want to educate your kids at a school that has internationally qualified teachers, a good curriculum and reputation then you are looking at private school education. I'm not even sure that enrolling non-Indonesian children in a local school is even an option.

If you are living in Bali you are often not on the same sort of income as you can make back home, and private schooling is unaffordable. You are looking at in excess of US9,000 per year for primary school. There are some cheaper options, particularly for younger kids, but it is still money that has to be found.

I know several mixed marriage Indonesian/Western couples who would love to live in Bali but can't because they can't afford the school fees.
