I have stayed at a few budget places(cheaper than $50per nite). Mades on Jl Danau Tamblingan across the road from Gazebo. The rooms are clean with good size bathroom,hot/cold water. Air con or fan only,fridge and a good size pool.The only thing I found was the towels were pretty rough but I just bought a couple from Hardy's.
Also there is Ron's place,Sanur Beach Villas. These are excellent value. Good clean rooms,good breakfast,great pool and the host and his esky are legendary.
A cheaper option is Sun House, air con rooms, pool and shared kitchen facilities.(last year these were about $350US per month) This is just around the corner from SBV.
My son and his girlfriend stayed at Lestari Homestay( $20 AUS a nite)for 7 weeks last year. The rooms were small but suited there needs. Air con, hot/cold water and swimming pool plus a basic breakfast of 2 eggs toast fruit and tea/coffee.
Hope this is of some help but if you walk around and have a look you will find something to suit you and your price range.
