Sorry haven't done this sort of trip, but as others have said type in babies in the search and you should get lots of hints, just a matter of compiling them.
One thing I have noticed is the Balinese love love love babies and they actually will take your baby off you for a cuddle and a hand around their family. This can be very off putting for the mum and the baby and quite scary for a first time traveller or first time mum.
The street paths are very uneven although this has got better over the years, so you need to take this into account, also a lot of stalls have 3-4 steps up into them, you will find that mum goes into the market stall to shop and dads clog up the pavement with prams. Doesn't sound too bad but shopping isn't a quick run in and grab something and go experience, buying one t-shirt can take up to 1/2 an hour of chit chat and then bargaining and then back to the chit chat. All good fun. I have taken a friend in a wheelchair and we stuck to the roads when moving to get anywhere and Discovery Mall was great for the airconditioning and the elevator.
