at the hotel is similarly priced to any other hotel....the only place in the area you can get "decent hotel" food. There are a couple of warung in the village that are not too bad...Family cafe next door to Kimen's surf is pretty good, as is Shore bar on the beach rd. As said, Ashtari is lovely, nice to stop in after driving to Mawun.
The hotel's villas are done in sasak style, the rooms of course not. Quite honestly no one would want to stay in them if they were completely sasak...obviously the hotel is just an interpretation of the local style. The property blends beautifully with its surrounds and thankfully doesn't ruin the area as opposed to most of Bali's hotels.
