Amed or Lovina???

Friends of mine are going to Bali and trying to decide between Lovina and Amed for 4 nights. They will be starting in Nusa Dua first (7 nts.) and then ending up in Ubud (4 nights).

There will be 3 couples and they will want to do some snorkelling and diving.

Where do you think they should go??? They are all mid 50's, not looking for tons of night life but don't want it too quiet either.

Any hotel suggestions in either location? They would want a pool and a restaurant on site.

I'm thinking that Amed might be too quiet but I know there are forumites out there that love Amed...please help!!!
