A mate and I paddled through some large patches of rubbish and debris while trying to enjoy a surf at Padang Padang. Such a shame. The locals would rake up the rubbish into small piles, kick out a small hole to a depth of about half a foot in the sand, then bury the piles. The numerous small landfills would then be eroded by the incoming tide, washing away the sand, and exposing the rubbish to the ocean again.
