To fellow members of balitravelforum and to DELEM

I found that poster Vincent's report on their stay at Puri Tanah Lot Hotel was accurate and helpful for anyone looking at hotels in this price range.
Vincent commented favourably on a number of things, told of the location and what was happening at the hotel, and also detailed some negatives.

DELEM, you in response were rude and dismissive to the poster, choosing to attack the person attempting to help other travellers.
Oh and SHOUTING the term SNOB at the poster.
(Remember capitalisation is used to signify the start of a sentence and proper nouns only.)

The sum total of your helpful information was a statement that the staff were wonderful, but did not provide examples.
In contrast the poster identified examples of where the staff were helpful as well as where the service was lacking.
For example I (and I believe others) agree with the poster that dirty and smelly towels are worthy of comment.

You state that you like the room with the rubbish piled up under the stairs opposite.
You also state that most people wouldn't - which is what Vincent said and for which you abused them.

The stated aim of this site is to:
"Benefit from up-to-date and straightforward information and experiences reported by residents and visitors to Bali"
- which is exactly what Vincent did
- and what you failed to do.

Your rudeness will only discourage helpful people trying to give a balanced report of their experiences and assisting others.

I suggest that you, DELEM, provide
- a balanced report on Puri Tanah Lot Hotel providing helpful specific information, and
- an apology to Vincent.

I won't hold my breath but I would be pleased to see it happen.
In which case also I would be pleased to buy you a Bintang in Bali.

Blessings of Peace
Chapeau

PS
My Report
My experience of the Puri Tanah Lot Hotel consisted of a tour of the grounds and a room inspection when I was looking for accomodation.
I found:
The Hotel has a pleasant building entrance in a narrow street, one that is very dark to walk along at night.
The pool is central and appears pleasant and clean, with good vegetation, although the pool was small for a hotel of this size.
The upstairs rooms open onto a walkway, and have no private balcony.
I did notice the rubbish piled up under the stairs down on the right in front of some of the rooms.
Staff were plentiful.
I viewed an upstairs room, (on the right as you pass reception) and found it tired and dirty.
This was the room they showed to me as potential accomodation. Quoted as IDR 325,000 July High Season
I went elsewhere.

The website
http://puritanahlothotel.com/
like hotels all over the world appears more attractive that the reality.
