Hi all. Just got back yesterday after 8 days. Bali was so busy.we travel to Bali at least 2-3 times a year and this time it was unbelievable. We were told that it was super peak season and you know how everytime you go somewhere you have a theme. Like Club hopping (you wanna see all the clubs)or jungle trekking..well lets just say i went hotel hopping.

I stayed at Legian Beach hotel for 600,000 rupiah a night and i think it was a huge rip off.Very lacadasical attitude. No soap and towels. No glass in the room but there was a refrigerator.Funny!! Not only was the staff rude but for that price we were given toast and coffee for breakfast and were treated badly. We left the place and moved to Dewa Baharatha Bungalows in Kuta for RP400,000 and it was heavenly. The staff made us feel at home. The hotel was private eventhough we were in the heart of Kuta.

Its funny how the business people were playing hard to get. Compared to other times when they would beg you to visit their stalls. This time it was a 'take it or leave it' situation. If you don't want it you can walk.

My friend and i wanted to buy a couple of pieces of clothing from this shop in Seminyak on Jalan Arjuna (Jalan Double 66) called Manis Sayang. The first day we went in, there was a guy who sold 7 pairs of pants for 100,000. The next day we went back to get some more and there was a lady there. We picked out the another 7 pairs of pants and a couple of blouses. She sold us the same pair for triple the price and claimed that that was the price. She claimed that we had bought other stuff (which we didn't)the day before and said it was impossible the guy sold us clothing for Rp100,000.After much haggling which left my friend and i mentally exhausted we agreed as she said she'd give ALL of it to us for Rp240,000. We agreed and as we took our money out to pay, she said the overall sum was 300,000.We asked her how she got to that sum she said, the 240,000 was the sum of only the pants!!!and therefore the total price is Rp300,000...What a con artist..not only was she rude and loud she was abnoxious as well...so beware. After walking out of the store, a couple of tourists were waiting around and we warned them to move off....

Also stay away from this restaurant called Peg's at Gang Ronta near Poppies 2. Next to Joe's place. The food is bad news. The tofu had fermented and turned bad, my friend suffered a bad stomach that night.

Otherwise everything was alright.
