Probably the major thing is that your 9carat jewellery has very little actual gold in it, once it is melted down and the silver and copper extracted there is very little weight left in Gold. I wouldn't be expecting much for it. My husband is a jeweller and people are amazed and what they may be offered for old jewellery.
