Well this was a great 5 weeks away. Flew to Bali with virgin blue, and on time. as well as great crew and good flight.Stayed for our first 2 weeks in Seminyak, with a 3 day break in Ubud at Tegal Sari.We are repeat visitors to Tegal Sari and can not fault this place. While in Ubud we visited the Botanical Gardens and this is worth a visit.Dined at Pizza Bagus and enjoyed great fresh pasta ,and served to your table steaming hot. Also ate at Tegal Sari ,and as always enjoyed.Decided to dine at Siam Sally for Thai food. Well we were disapointed ,food very bland, and expensive for such poor quality. Dont mind paying high prices as long as food is good.
Did a side trip to Singapore and Vietnam , but will place this report on appropiate forums. But will say both places are worth visiting and had a great time.
On returning to Bali we spent our last week in Sanur and this is where our thank you part of this JBR comes in.
Stayed at a very enjoyable establishment. Sanur Beach Villas. This place is run by one of the most hospitable hosts we have ever come across. Thank you Ron for a great week. Not only is Bintang extremely accessable but its cold and availabe all day (and night).Kept in that big red esky so often mentioned on this forum.
Ron took us on a tour of a few drinking establisments to check out their quality and temperature that they serve their Bintang.Must add all pass the test and a few were consumed. It was mentioned the next day that we were taken on a p... drinking tour while the other 2 guests were going to be taken on a culture tour. Could you please explain Ron what culture those 2 saw ? Must have been very exhuasting for them as I dont think they moved to far from their front porch the day after. Amazing what too much culture can do.
The Sanur beach festival was on just before we were due to come back to Australia and reality.WOW if you ever get the chance to see the opening parade for this festival please go.I would say it took nearly one hour to pass by our viewing point. The festival was held just across the road from Rons, and with Bintang in hand we watched this parade and enjoyed every moment. So colourfull and very entertaining.
I would also like to thank Rons lovely wife Irma as she makes the best omelettes I have eaten in Bali. Not to forget the great staff that greet you every day with big smiles.
Before we left Bali we had already booked our tickets to return in May.Cant wait. But have to now start the diet and detox program.
