have you been before? i would agree that there are bucketloads of places to stay, but if it is four or five star, then booking is advisable. if it isn't, there really are lots of places without a web presence; we rocked up in ubud without accommodation in july when ubud was rocking and had no trouble, just because there are so many places to stay. if you have a driver, they are happy to go from place to place to place....etc. i like to look at my acommodation first annd bargain before committing ( unless i am jetlagged). please feel free to email me for more detailed info, kat
