there is no real necessity to eat anywhere. Candidasa is roughly half way time wise and has some good eateries.
If you leave later in the day get your driver to switch from the new road to the old and call in at Gianya and sample the Babi Guling - pig on a spit. The old road has less traffic and on the way back you are following slow trucks for most of the new highway.
