It is a total lockdown, and at night, if any light is shown through a window, security people will demand that it is covered.
It is ver strictly enforced.
You will be confined to the hotel all day, and will probably find that the cost of a "special" dinner will go up, as you can't go elsewhere.
I suggest you buy stores the day before to get you through the day.
The day after, there is a fair of sorts on Kuta beach, and you can also view the huge crafted "monsters" there.
