Have stayed at the Ramayana several times and we always have the deluxe rooms overlooking the pool. Try not to get the road side as it may be a bit noisy. It has been refurbished in the last couple of years. It has 2 pools, no swim up pool bar though. The rooms are quite large, with bath tub. Has tea/coffee making and water supplied each day. It has in an room safe. Breakfast is pretty good, though sometimes I complain that it is not hot enough. It is a great location with the markets right over the road, and you walk through them and you are on the beach. It is close to Mataharis, for your odds and ends that you need, water, drinks, etc. I love the location. It is lovely and clean and great staff. Ask for Jay and tell him his "mum" said hello.
