To go to Ningaloo Reef which is in the north of Western Australia you have to fly to Perth the capital of W.A.. It is a very long drive to Ningaloo (Exmouth) about 12-14 hours can't remember exactly.

Can't help you with hotels because both time we went to Exmouth we stayed in private houses which we rented out.

You can change money in a bank in Exmouth. There are heaps of tourists there and I am sure the banks would change foreign currency.

Air Asia would be the cheapest airline to fly to Perth from Bali.

I have been to Exmouth and Ningaloo Reef a couple of times. First time with family and we had a stop over in Geraldton on the way up and Carnarvon on the way back. We did this to break up the long drive up but it took us 2 days to get there and 2 days to get home. The second time we went with friends and we drove straight up there with only a stop over in Carnarvon for petrol and food. I wouldn't do that again because it was such a long drive to do in one day. Ningaloo reef and Exmouth region is beautiful and I love it but it is far from Perth. I do know that there are flights from Perth to Learmonth which is about half an hour from Exmouth but are very expensive. Cheaper to fly to Bali.

If you do fly to Perth which is much closer to Bali than the Eastern States you could alway go to the Margaret River and Busselton region of Western Australia. It is beautiful there. Only a few hours from Perth and there is heaps to see and do. Visit wineries, breweries, caves, lovely beaches and the list goes on. From Margaret River and Busselton you could also drive down to Pemberton, Walpole, Denmark and Albany for a couple of days. I love it down there aswell.

If you do decide to go to Ningaloo Reef make sure you go to Sandy Bay. Sandy Bay is just lovely no reef to see like Torquoise Bay but a beautiful white beach and clear blue water. A lovely place just to chill out. I miss it so much it is a shame it's so far away.

I love Western Australia. I can't wait until January going to Margaret River and Busselton for 2 weeks then to Bali in May for a week with cheap AA flight. Roll on 2010.

Hope this helps you Freddy.
