As you are going to Amed not Kuta it will be quieter & more laid back - I would change money before going to Amed - best to bring whatever your own currency eg AU$ in $100.00 denominations (easier to get used to changing) go to reputable money changer & when changing ask for 100,000 rup notes - so AU$100 approx 800,000 (whatever the rate on the day.
Appropriate dress - casual is acceptable - I don't think going into restaurants & shopping in bikini tops etc. is acceptable unless you're Elle McPherson - polite behaviour is the same anywhere, don't lose your cool, smile a lot, refuse politely (don't make promise to come back later)- tipping - if the taxi is 15,000 rup, round up to 20,000, same in restaurants - tip if you think service is good. Remember 20,000 rup is just over $2.00 -
