Flying to Bali via Jakarta is a useful option especially for those who fly using Qantas Frequent Flyer(QFF) points, as there are always more QFF seats to Jakarta as compared to QFF seats to Bali.
You will go through VOA and Customs in Jakarta. Depending on which domestic airline you are using, you will have to catch a airport bus to the relevant domestic terminal in Jakarta.
From Jakarta, you can fly to Bali with Garuda, Lion Air or Air Asia Indonesia etc. You will arrive at the Bali Domestic Terminal.
At the moment, I have plenty of QFF points, but I will be flying to Bali from Perth next month with Air Asia. My Air Asia ticket cost me $A77 including taxes and the flight is direct from Perth.
