We move there on Friday and called in to confirm a couple of days ago and talked to both Peter (owner) and Joan. They are extremely sorry for the double booking that happened and asked me to pass on their apologies for this and for the flap that they were in.
This is what happened. Their front desk manager has become very very sick and had to leave for his village at short notice. Then there was a problem and they could not access their email or website bookings. People were turning up with an email confirmation of booking but there was no record and, more importantly, no vacant room so, chaos and no way to contact Pak Made in his village, sick for help.
They have found a new receptionist/booking clerk who is experienced and computer savvy and she was due to start yesterday. They expect that their email booking will be back up to scratch from then.
We have always enjoyed staying there and hope we will again for the next 2 weeks. I will post a "Being There" report next week.
For anyone who would like to start a flame war with me. That will be fine since I am flame proof. As for "The Garden", I feel sure that it will survive very nicely thankyou!!!
