I guess the big question about bringing a board from home is:
"how much does the airline charge" (X2 for roundtrip)
Then do a little calculating to see which is cheaper, renting/buying or bringing.
If she is mostly surfing in her lesson the board will already be included in the cost of lesson.
If the surfing school is friendly, as a courtesy, they should hook her up with a board for some after school practice, either free or cheap. Well, that's just my opinion. Probably the best way to do that would say something like. "I think my daughter will want to take some more lessons this week, can she use one of your boards to practice a little extra?" That way they can easily see their courtesy leading to more business.
Sometimes helps to nudge people into doing the right thing.
