Hi Nattsy,WONDER WHY THEY REMOVED post?perhaps i shouldn't write how i am sick of this forum having people who question your motives for why you " would want to visit a prison on your holidays"type, selfish attitude. aNYWAY FACTS ARE THAT YOU CAN'T PHYSICALLY SEE sCHAPELLE. tHERE IS A LIST OF 74 NAMES WHICH I HAVE SEEN OF HER FRIENDS, FAMILY AND NOMINATED VISITORS. iF YOU ARE NOT ON THIS LIST YOU CANNOT SEE HER, no matter what. tHOSE ON THE LIST MUST STILL SHOW THEIR VISA AND PASSPORT. With a Balinese friend translating i found it quite easy to pass on a gift / item I wanted to give her. whoops had the capitals tab on! There is an office for visitors, manned during certain hours, where I found that with IDR 10,000 you could give letters, cards, notes, items, etc to the guards and a female guard will take it to her. The womwns section is way up the back of a very large prison complex and the process took 45 minutes.I gave the guard a note to give Schapeele (i didn't really trust the guards being sceptical) but the guard returned with Schapelles answer on a piece of paper, i then gave the item to be given to her and another IDR 10,000 to the female guard. For me this was well worth IDR20,000 for my intentions.(the item given was a Tibetan Buddhist mani stone that i had blessed by a monk for her) On returning to Aust i checked the signature and handwriting against her writing in her book and have no doubt it was all genuine, the guards convinced my Balinese friend that it was all ok and she received my gift. Visiting hours are CLOSED on Mondays. Open between 9:00am and 12:00 on a Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday and open again between 1:00 and 3:00 on these afternoons. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday visiting hours are 9:00 till 12:00. hope this information is helpful to your original posting, regards.
