obvioualy coming from someone whose philosophies are as radical as the VERY FEW of Indonesia's Muslim Communities who share extremist views.
I know from living in Jakarta just how the general population is 100% against the extremist minorities using the name of Islam to carry-out their terrible crimes - not just against "the Western Enemy" but against fellow Muslims. The backlash in Indonesia against the extremist minorities has been astounding!
It is significant that this morning two militants were killed in Besaki near Jakarta. Here are excerpts from The Jakarta Globe's News updates this morning:
1. "Indonesian police have killed two suspected Islamic militants and seized 500 kilograms of explosives after a raid on a house in the Bekasi area near Jakarta, National Police chief Gen. Bambang Hendarso Danuri said on Saturday.
Bambang said that at a house in Nusapala, Jati Asih, Bekasi, two suspected militants were killed and three were arrested during the raid at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning. He said officers seized explosives and a car bomb that was intended for "a specific target" but gave no more details.
The residence was a "safe house" for the planning and organization of the July 17 hotel bombings, Bambang said."
2. "Wanted Terrorist Noordin M Top Believed Dead
Indonesian police have shot dead a man suspected to be leading Islamic militant Noordin Mohammad Top during raids in Central Java and were trying to identify his body, police sources said on Saturday.
Malaysian-born Top is a prime suspect in the near simultaneous suicide attacks on Jakarta's JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels which killed nine people and wounded 53.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has vowed to track down the bombers and if Top has been killed or captured it would be major coup for security forces and could help reduce the chance of further attacks.
Police have launched a series of raids since Friday and a police source close to the investigation into the hotel attacks said a man suspected to be Top was killed during a raid on a workshop in Temanggung, over 250 miles southeast of Jakarta.
"He was shot dead," the source said, adding that raids in the area had led police to a house in Bekasi, on the outskirts of the capital, where up to 500 kg of bombs had been found.
A source in Indonesia's anti-terrorism unit Detachment 88 also said police believed Top had been killed."
This is the reality of what Indonesian Authorities are doing to stamp-out terrorism. Remember too that during the past week, Australia came very close to becoming a victim of Islamic Militants, so PLEASE do not make statements unless you are absolutely certain that they can be substantiated!
