Would like to refute some of the damaging posts on Secret Garden Inn.We love it! Yes, they have raised their rates in July without notice as happens in Bali. Sadly they lost their Manager because of serious illness and the owner and his Lady are utterly innocent as to the value and use of Internet.The only means of contacting the Inn is Phone or Fax and one cannot convince them that this is archaic - they just are not aware. Know this IS an Oasis a delightful area that surrounds a deep crystal clear pool with massed frangi trees of every hue and lovely greenery. This gem of a spot is no 5 star venue but is such a grea find. The rooms are well appointed and have a/c punker fan,personal safe, lockable wardrobes, shelves benches writing desk drawers bedside tables reading lamps TV an ensuite with ample hot water always available - a large fridge - your own personal Lanai with two wooden chairs and table + drying rack. By the pool they have several lounges scattered around. Breakfast is included and they do have extras available. A Telephone in your room and oddly enough - they supply free WIFI from 10.30am till 10pm - breakfast is served 7.30am stops at 10am. They will help with taxis etc., also have a small exchange library and daily paper. Chaos is occurring because most people arriving unaware of rate rises and wonder why they were not advised by email and owner is a total innocent at how important email is. Their previous Manager did all that and had ceased to keep up with it before he left due to ill health. So if you have a booking check in by phone or fax and that will aid satisfaction. The Owner is a caring person and they do have issues in getting more staff that they so badly need because of local laws which I do not fully understand.The existing staff are very hard working, smile a lot are helpful and as honest as one could wish for. They have a full time security day and night and you are minutes from so very many eateries and Bars. They also serve Icy drinks - Bintang included and may we assure you we have happily returned since 2004 when it opened and look forward to coming again when we leave. Have usually spent 4 Months of our Australian Winter here with extreme pleasure. This year is the first time there has been a lot of fuss mainly because of poor communication. They just will NOT be told how important email contact is. However they do care about returning customers and lets hope you will make an effort and be one of them!
