I had a motorcycle jacket made for me by the French Leather Collection this year. I am very happy with the result.

You should take a metric tape and measure your son. Measure across the back across the shoulders, around the chest, stomach as well as around the hips. Measure the neck and the distance from the top of the shoulder to the hip.

When measuring the arms, ask your son to lean forward as if he was holding the handlebars and measure from the top of the shoulder to where the palm of the hand starts. While in that position measure from the neck to the rear waistband.

A notorcycle jacket should be longer at the back than at the front and have long arms to cater for the riding position of leaning over with the arms outstretched.

When ordering your jacket, ask for very thick leather and stress that it will be worn in winter with thick clothing underneath.

Take the liner with you and ask for press studs in the jacket to match the liner.
