Says it all, take cash and exchange into Rupiahs in Bali at PT Central outlets or banks, take your atm as back up and credit card for emergencies. ATM cards come out last in Bali so don't forget it.

Visa on Arrival is $25.00 us dollars, you can pay in Aus dollars and get change in Rupiahs, check exchange rate before you leave, rate at airport not so good.

Take an unlocked phone and put a Bali Sim card in, there are plenty of shops/stalls that sell Bali Sim Cards, the guy will set your phone up for you with credit and tell you what the best codes are to use to get the cheapest texts and calls.
