as said there was a leak in the drainage pipe under the roadwhich was left unrepaired( imagine that!)and then about thre weeks ago it basically collapsed.
It was chaosdriving around Ubud two weeks ago- you couldn'tgo along Jalan Raya past the market which meant that to get to Jalan Hanoman (top part) I had to drive down MOnkey forest- out the back of Ubud and back around ( time about 25 minutes due tocongestio as opposed to five normally)
tocomein fromthat direction meant going virtually around Ubud and backin again.
the market people are p*** as , they are having troublewiht deliveries as wellthe tourist buses are having problems stopping ans osme say that there business has dropped off more than 50%.
It really make sit difficult to get around for anyone now so ifyou can avoid drivng in that area do so.I was making deliveries to upper Jalan hanoman so had little choice but it was awful
Oh ,they ahve allocated the playing field midway down MOnkey forest for parking for the market (2000 rp for 2 hours) which is actually quite nice as at least you don't have to jigglein and out of spots and reverse into oncoming traffic!!
