Bali Day Three........ Day Three. Squirty Gerty and chicken bacon.........

The breakfast at the Mecure is pretty good. They cater for lots of tastes and cultures but one thing that has caused a bit of discussion is the Chicken Bacon. Imagine what would happen if a chicken and a pig got jiggy.....you'd have chicken bacon. It's like beef jerky that tastes like chicken flavoured Samboy chips.

I gave it a crack. I gave it a crack for two days. It looked like a dry shammy but tasted like Samboy chips.

The rooms at the Mecure are nice enough. They are small but they're fine for what you need. They are almost identical to the All Seasons in Legion but the All Seasons is half the price. The Mecure obviously has a more central location.

The showers would be a bit of drama if you're a bit older. Our room has a bath/shower and you need to abseil to get up and down. The rooms on the side nearest to the Hard Rock get a bit of noise pollution but that wasn't every night. The security was good. They searched ever car and gave bags a cursory search.

We caught up with Kelly and friends at Flapjacks which is a pancake restaurant next to the Stadium Bar in Kuta. It's a pretty good feed but not cheap by Bali standards. Cass, Shayne and their son Thomas, who arrived the day before, joined us.

With most Balinese restaurants there was a hand washing station at Flapjacks. I don't know why there aren't more of these in Australian Restaurants. I rate them.

I'm hesitant to bag people who obviously have mental health issues but there was a European/Australian woman who had some problems. We got a pretty good idea she was a little odd when she used the wash basin to give herself a sponge bath, twice.....

That wasn't the worst of it. Poor Bianca was sitting next to the wash basin and she got just as wet as the woman. The woman would only stand but then she couldn't stand still.

I have no drama with people with mental health issues trying to be part of main stream society but this woman had very obvious issues and she didn't appear to be there with anyone who could give her support. She definitely shouldn't have been out in Bali by herself.

We did WaterBom Park which was great and relaxing without the kids. Lee and I discovered pretty quick that you needed to lift your knees up on the mats when you went down face first on the Boogie Ride. Lucky I'm not having anymore kids. Water Bom Park is good fun with or without the kids and by going early in the morning the crowds aren't too bad.

We did a bit of shopping on the way back to the hotel but poor Tash went from being Giggling Gerty to Squirty Gerty. She drank a coke, which plays havoc with her tummy and it did. She ended up heading back to the hotel so the wife and I wandered around and despite my pleas to go to Bubba Gumps (best milk shakes in the world) we ended up at the Hard Rock.

The food is always good and not too expensive. They put on a bit of a show for a couple of kids and a bloke who were having a birthday. That was fun to watch and well done by the staff.

Tomorrow Rusty Demons and Attempted Murder
