To answer your question, we came through to bali three weeks ago and there was no sign of what you mentioned but it would have helped us if there was. My family, being my husband myself and two sons, all flew over with Air Asia. We were here for only a day before my son started to get a fever. Then my husband started to find it hard to breathe and within an hour of that, I had started to cough...
We thought we better get our son to the doctors just in case it was the swine flu.. We took him to the BIMC, who by the way were fantastic. By this time both myself and my husband were getting worse. They took blood test from all of us and within two hours we had the results. My sons white blood cell count was low meaning it was viral so they shipped us all off to the Sanglah Hospital to get tested for Swine Flu.
It was now 1am in the morning when we got tested.. little did we know that they had put us straight into quarantine. They did samples and then left...We were not told anything but to wait for the results....Three days later....they results came back.. we had gone in ther with nothing but the clothes we were wearing..no toothbrushes or anything.
We were all tested positive for swine flu and had to stay in quarantine for 6 days all up... They are still sorting out this wing of the hospital so as you can imagine the room was void of any luxuries.. We didn't even have a shower..only a toilet. The food most of the time was indonesian..and not the nice kind either..my son lost so much weight I was in a panic when we got out...My other son was with us the whole time but never got the virus...we are still trying to figure out why.
There ward was constantly full so there is many people here that are contracting the virus. My son said that on the plane over here, he had someone sitting behind him that was constantly coughing all over the place and this is where he picked it up from. It comes on very quick and you are very sick with hours. They gave us Tamiflu tablets and released up after 6 days of being in quarantine. This would have to have been one of the worst experiences of my life and to top it all off, our insurance policy did not allow us to extend our holiday.
So, when you see people at the airports with masks on, you can understand that in these countries, it is no joke...
