I can recommend another place for you (if not already been!) as it sounds like your family is fit enough. Sekumpul village is East of Singaraja and has the most spectacular waterfall and surrounds. It has no name - just Sekumpul village waterfall. The local guide there is lovely (even offered us a FREE coffee) and he does treks of the area.
