its called ACAO (international Civil Aviation Organization) its something that was established in the 1940's and international rules were made up that everyone abides too. At the end of the day if an airline own someone money and has a "control" over that airline then they can use that "control" to force its hand to pay back the money. Just like ozjet in perth. If airasia owes the airport money then they can refuse to handle it until it pays that money. This is not likely to happen in Malaysia as corruption is very prominent so I am sure they will come to some under the table deal !!!!
