... as recently my in-laws wanted travel insurance to the US and the quote they got via the TA (which noted their pre-existing conditions but wouldn't cover them) was horrendous! My MIL then enquired via a couple of other companies with not much success until I suggested she ask at the bank as we use the insurance on our gold credit card and not only would the cover them with the standard policy (complimentary as part of the banking package) but they were also able to buy an 'upgrade' to cover the pre-existing conditions which was 1/5 the price of the original quote which didn't cover the conditions!
