the cost and reckon it would be hard to get permission. We were letting them off on the beach in front of the MBR and the Banjar Police came and told us it was against the law to let off fireworks.
There was a sign near Legian Beach Resort and we didn't argue, didn't want to spend time in a Bali jail. The Banjar were polite and explained that some tourist were frightened because they thought Bali was being bombed again.
