Hi Helen
Are you staying in Amed? If so, I would do the round trip. Take the coast road to Amlapura via Candi Dasa, then either south to Ujung, and the Seraya road to Amed, or north through Titagangga, which is about 6 Kms from Amlapura. The Seraya road is a spectacular drive, a narrow, but bitumenized road, with lots of hills and great views. I would probably go there on this road, and return through Tirtagangga, then take the very scenic road to Rendang and left down the Sidemen road though Klungkung, where the huge markets are worth a look and maybe back to Sanur on the old road through Gianyar, Sukawati, Celuk etc.
Other things to do include Tenganan, Ujung water palace, White sands beach, Tulamben, snorkelling at Lipah beach, Japanese sub.
If you want a detailed map of Amed, email me and I will send it to you. We were there last month, and I made the map from Google Earth and added most of the Hotels, restaurants etc.
Cheers
Rodger
