Few years back i bought a large canvas type bag from Army Surplus store in Perth . Have travelled with it heaps . Its like new still and would weigh about 1kg at most . The bonus is it holds more than what 2 average suit cases would . Cost less than $50. If you have 2 or three you can pack them all in one for the trip over. These bags are so strong , I wouldn't buy anything else now.
