Hello, we've hired babysitters while in Bali for our three young children both through the hotel and through Smudge. With the exception of one bad experience the sitters are fantastic and dote on your children. We usually only hire them for a few hours at night so we can go out to dinner, as our children don't like to come. I think the most important thing is to set out the guidelines with the sitter, explain what your children are/aren't allowed to do if you are leaving them alone with the sitter. Also, if you want the sitter to be able to come with you to the pool to help out make sure you ask for someone who knows how to swim.
