We just got back from a weeks stay at La Walon on 14th July. The hotel is an L shape, the new section where the deluxe rooms are overlooks the pool and restuarant area and is in the reception section, with the older section running parrallel to Poppies 1.

We stayed in the old section, so I cannot comment on what the deluxe rooms are like inside, but I can tell you that the balcony is really tiny, with only enough room for the clothes airer. Not a chance you could fit a couple of chairs out there for an afternoon bintang!

I do not believe there are safety deposit boxes in the rooms, (there wasn't one in ours) only at reception, but we kept all our stuff in our room and never had any problems at all, however, that was our choice and we accepted the risks associated with doing that.

There is a nice pool area in the middle of the hotel, and we enjoyed the food at the restaurant very much.

For me the best thing about La Walon was its location. Being right in the middle of Poppies 1 it is a quick walk to the beach, Legian Street or to Kuta Square through the laneway that leads off to the right just before you get to Legian St.

There are also lots of good restaurants close to the hotel, so lots of choices as to where to eat.

Our room was quite large, two single beds, a 3/4 size fridge, and a nice balcony area. We enjoyed it, and for the price, it was good value.

Lucky doer - hope you enjoy your holiday :)
