Just done white water rafting for at least the eighth time in Bali.
Was having a beer at KTH on the weekend watching the game. There is a tour desk there and I dealt with a guy called Jack. Not the cheapest but definitely the best.
I didn't need to raft again but my mates were up for it. I wasn't really, but if I had to go I knew to ask about steps up and down. I am a lazy bloke.
The guy got on the phone to check how many steps were there and he came back with 40 steps. OK, this is going to be the easiest to date. Well, Bali being Bali there weren't 40 steps, there were 72 steps (easy! paved concrete).
Not sure of the company that was used but they start at the highest point of the river and finish at the lowest. Excellent!
The bus that picked us up was modern, good air con, reclining seats, and had plenty of guts up the mountain. (I liked the reclining seats on the way back had a snooze). No Aussies on our bus but it was just a bus ride.
The included lunch was the best I have ever had on a tour or rafting mission.
23 steps down from the bus and 72 steps back up to the bus. Very pleased.
