we were there about 4 weeks ago and realy enjoyed it. The road to it is potholed and rough, but once there , all is good. You start at LeMare restaurant at the top of the cliff, with a panoramic view, and travel down to the beach by the funicular, quite spectacular. There is a charge of Rp 200,000 per head, which is refunded against your food or drink bill on the beach. We had a couple of good pizzas and 4 beers which ended up around Rp 500,000. It was very pleasant sitting in the restaurant overlooking the beach.
The reef protects the water, which is very calm, like a big lagoon, no waves or undercurrants. The beach is white sand and there are lounges with umbrellas on the sand as well.
