Love reading about your time in Ubud. Hate to be a wet blanket but you seem not to realise that unless you have an International Drivers Licence (IDL), endorsed for motor cycles, then you will not be covered by your Travel Insurance (assuming that you have any) while using scooters. Certainly any passenger would not be covered. Sure, it is fun tootling around on a scooter BUT be aware that it can cost AUD$100K for a medical transfer back to Australia from Bali.
This is something that should be constantly emphasised here.
