EeePC from ASUS has the longest battery life-span, if power is an issue for you. Indeed it's not an issue if most of the time you live inside a hotelroom with an electric-adapter in hand.Different story if your journey include mountain hike
Another cheaper one : Acer NoteBook.
Not cheaper : Samsung, HP, Dell.
