The day we packed for home, we had far too much stuff to bring back. So, there were many teen clothes my son had grown out of (he had a great time buying new 'knock offs'), we put them in a couple of recycle bags and gave them away. There were also many other newly bought things we decided we really didn't need to take home and our room cleaner was very happy to receive them also. After all, he had three children and he worked very hard to support them. We did have to write a letter on hotel letterhead so that he could prove to his manager that the items were now his property.
I would take things over with me next time, because I know now to take virtually empty suitcases in preparation for bringing new purchases home. I've considered taking the deep fryer that I no longer use. That and an aussie power board. It's almost new (very bad for my hips) but I know it would be appreciated in Bali. :-)
