Sorry its taken awhile just been flat out at work, here's what I can remember from my 12 nights in Bali.

Mum, Dad, Partner and myself stayed at the Jayakarta in Legian, have stayed here before and usually haven't had a complaint. But during our stay a large group of around 200 indonesian families turned up and took over the hotel. I hate to winge but they were so loud, the kids were running through the hallways at 5.30am. When we complained they couldn't move us as they were fully booked, quite dissappointing. Little things but really in the end not good enough, breakfast was always packed so you were waiting constantly and the food was cold, and good luck getting a day bed by the pool as these were already full by 9am.

This was my partner's first time to bali so we did a lot of things, I will list them with a little info below:

1. Bird Park and Reptile Park - I think worth a visit if your a first timer, I quite enjoyed it at both of these places.
2. Bali Safari and Marine Park - I had been here before and though a few rides and the pools were open, I still think it needs more. I'm sure it will be good once the Marine park opens.
3. Volcano, Monkey Forest and Ubud - Worth a visit once but so over it.
4. White Water Rafting - this is always great and I don't think you can ever get sick of it. However, make sure you pick the correct river as one is for kids and the other is definately for adults (ie. waterfall at the end).
5. Water sports at Nusa Dua - This was fantastic, we paid about $30 aus dollars to do this and we got the following glass bottom boat ride, parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat ride, snorkeling for however long you wanted and a trip to turtle island.
6. Water Bomb Park - always a fun day but I think for what it is its quite expensive.

We spent one night in Nusa Dua at the Nikko hotel. It was absolutely amazing, extremely expensive but well worth it. The place was immaculate and I would highly recommend it.

Most restaurants we ate at were around the Jayakarta up the beach and the food is great, for the price you can't beat it. I love the Maih Maih its great. People are saying alcohol is expensive and yes it is spirits and wine have all gone up but if you want cheap drinks you can still stick to the bintangs, bali coolers and the bali cocktails.

We had a few suits made at Janako's and they were great, we did a lot of shopping at the markets, matahari and Centro and scored many a bargain.

Hope this is good.
