& yes you are right about using a sitter in a foreign country. I certainly wouldn't even consider it for the 3yo alone, it is why I want my stepdaughter to stay behind as well, to keep an eye on the sitter LOL. We use a registered family day care service at home 3 days a week & have been met with opposition even on that (my sister says "who watches the watcher?").
Basically we just want an adult present in the apartment in the unlikely instance that something goes wrong. We probably wouldn't leave until after the 3yo is in bed so the sitter would really just be keeping the 13yo company.
