Simpati is very good, especially if you want 3G. It costs Rp 400 to send an SMS to Australia and by using the prefix 01017 before the 61 country code it is about Rp 1,000 per minute to ring Australia. Without the prefix it is about a dollar per minute. SMS to other simpati phones is rp 100 and phone calls to simpati rp 0.5 per second. The thing about buying a sim card in Bali is that they usually come with rp 5,000 credit and can cost from 15,000 to 80,000 depending where you buy it. Commonly I have paid 25,000 for a simpati. When are you going, I will have a couple of spare simpati cards at the end of August?
