I would and have been left alone in Bali since 1979 as a 6 year old with my older bro being 8 and my younger bro being 3, Mum and Dad had the staff check on us every half hour or so and the worst thing that came out of it was i flushed little bro's pyjamas down the toilet and the hotel staff built our hopes up on a scooter ride the next day. If you are in a decent hotel with staff that you feel comfortable with why not. 13 year olds are a lot more street smart than we ever were, but guess it comes down to how much you trust your kids
