It is not that I'm reluctant, it is my husband who objects (on his daughter's behalf). He feels that she will resent being left home with a sitter while we go out.
We rarely go out at home because of a lack of sitters that we know & trust (both sets of grandmothers are elderly/disabled) and I thought this holiday would be a great opportunity to hire a sitter for a couple of nights out without breaking the bank.
You are 100% correct when you say I wouldn't enjoy lovely dinners for worrying - I have pretty much concluded that if I can't get him to agree to a sitter then I will forget about romance!!
