I read this the other day and thought no, i wouldn't leave a 13 and 3 year old together. But i guess you know them and the capabilities of the 13 year old. Just wonder if there was an emergency eg fire, would he/she know what to do? My partner and I have taken our then 2 year old to Bali and we used our driver/friend's wife to mind our son in the room while i went out and he did some business with the driver. When i came home the wife had taken my boy to the beach which i was a little concerned about as i thought they would have stayed at the resort in our room. I would not leave my son again, either we take it in turns of going shopping/meals etc or we all go as a family. I think leave your nights out alone for when you are at home and have a babysitter you know and trust. That is my opinion but up to you obviously.
