cause I wouldn't have given a hoot if she spent the next 10 year rotting in Kerobokan. No matter how broke and hungry we've been I would NEVER resort to stealing. Not everyone who has no money has no morals and steals. That was her choice and she should pay you back or work out how she can repay you in some way. Letting her get away with it with no consequences enables her and her acquaintances to go and do it tomorrow to some other unsuspecting tourist who treat her well and in good faith. There may be poor people in Bali, but they're not all scammers and theives! And if she and her children were really hungry, she could have chosedn to take only enough dollars to feed them for a few days til she could 'skim' someone else. But no, she took the lot!
